Employees know best

Just this morning I received a message from a old acquaintance of mine… no a old coworker, we will call him jimmy, and jimmy had a lot to say about my company.

He had basically ghosted us after working with us for a few weeks since he was a new hire, he sent a long 50 line long paragraph to me and the company’s group page, it spoke about our long meetings, our efficiency in work, the choices we made in the company and how he felt like his opinions would backfire on him if he spoke up about issues he noticed in the company.

So what’s a better alternative than to simply leave the company, you don’t know the culture as well as you could so you have no idea how they would react to it.

I took my time this morning to read through his message to me 5 times, and every time I came to a deeper and deeper understanding of his perspective in the company, I never wanted Technologically Zealous Family to be a company where thoughts and opinions are not shared openly or people can’t bring themselves to speak out because of cooperate politics. But that was the standard, that was the expectation for people

If there are issues, it cannot be changed so it is better to leave and that is absolutely right, we had a sit down and talked about these issues because I never wanted a team member to feel less important or that his opinions are irrelevant to the company because at the end of the day we need each other to survive.

We are still talking and negotiating as we speak but I just wanted to make a post to show you that personally I don’t think I know all the answers and to be closed minded enough to do a thing like ignoring your employees is corporate suicide, one many companies have already faced and failed to deal with,

This is the culture we are trying to spread, not the stagnant mess the lower corporate world is acting in.
